Sean O’Pry is the Interim Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He directs the Sound of Today Marching Band, Technical Fowls Basketball Pep Band, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band. He also teaches courses in instrumental conducting and music theory.

Philosophy of Education
Everyone has the ability to learn. A safe, stimulating classroom atmosphere is essential to the academic, emotional, social, and artistic growth of students. It is my goal to create class and rehearsal atmospheres where students feel safe enough to take risks and grow and are challenged to do so.
Music education provides students with the unique opportunity to use measurable, objective materials to create and interpret subjective ideas. I believe the following are necessary for a successful music class: a safe environment wherein students are able to take risks; student-access to high-quality music; challenging yet achievable objectives and goals; and a teacher highly skilled in pedagogy and artistry.
